Modern Day Slavery Statement

PIC Services
Financial Year Ending: 2025
Published: 2025

1. Introduction

At PIC Services, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. As a provider of children’s residential care and supported accommodation, we are acutely aware of our responsibility to protect vulnerable individuals — not only those in our care but also across every aspect of our business and supply chain.

While we are not legally required to publish a statement under the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, we believe it is important to demonstrate our commitment to ethical practice, transparency, and the prevention of modern slavery and human trafficking.

2. About PIC Services

PIC Services provides high-quality care and accommodation for children and young people across the North West of England. Established in 1999 by experienced social workers, we specialise in solo placement homes and supported accommodation that offer stability, safety, and pathways to independence.

We operate with the highest safeguarding standards and are committed to promoting human rights and dignity throughout our work.

3. Our Commitment

As a children’s care provider, we are committed to:

  • Acting with integrity and transparency in all our business practices

  • Ensuring that modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation have no place within our business or supply chains

  • Working only with organisations and individuals who share our commitment to ethical practice, safeguarding, and the welfare of vulnerable people

4. Our Supply Chains

Our supply chains are UK-based and include providers of accommodation, maintenance services, training, staffing support, and other essential goods and services. We work with trusted suppliers and subcontractors who uphold strong ethical standards and understand the importance of safeguarding.

5. Due Diligence and Risk Management

Given the nature of our business, we assess our exposure to modern slavery as low, but we remain vigilant. We take proactive steps to minimise risk, including:

  • Reviewing new suppliers through pre-qualification and procurement processes

  • Maintaining oversight of existing suppliers through regular engagement and monitoring

  • Ensuring all contracts reflect our commitment to ethical standards and human rights

6. Training and Awareness

While formal modern slavery training is not required for our organisation under current legislation, our staff receive comprehensive safeguarding training that includes awareness of exploitation risks. We foster a culture of vigilance, where staff understand the signs of abuse or exploitation — both within care settings and the wider community.

7. Continuous Improvement

We recognise that this is an evolving area of responsibility. As our organisation grows, we remain committed to regularly reviewing our policies, procedures, and supply chains to ensure we are doing everything possible to prevent exploitation and protect the most vulnerable.

8. Approval

This statement has been reviewed and approved by the management of PIC Services.
