Who We Are

About Us

Creating safe, supportive homes and pathways to independence for children and young people.

At PIC Services, we believe every child and young person deserves a place where they feel safe, valued, and supported — not just for today, but for their future.

Founded in St Helens in 1999 by three experienced social workers, PIC began with a simple but powerful vision: to create solo placement homes that feel like family, not institutions. At a time when many children were placed in large, impersonal settings, we set out to offer something different — a warm, stable home where each child could be truly seen, heard, and supported.

As our young people grew, we saw a gap in the system — a need for more support as they transitioned from care to independence. That’s why we expanded to include supported accommodation, bridging the space between children’s homes and living independently in the community.

Today, PIC Services is made up of two specialist branches that work closely together:

PIC Children’s Services

Our Ofsted-registered solo children’s homes in St Helens and Sefton provide 24/7 care for children with emotional and behavioural needs. We focus on stability, safety, and helping each child build strong, lasting relationships — whether that’s with family, friends, or trusted adults in our team.
