PIC Children’s Services
“Your journey starts here, with people who care.”
A note about our voice:
You might notice that everything on our website is written as though we’re speaking directly to the young people we care for. That’s because we are. They are at the heart of everything we do, and we want them to feel seen, heard, and valued in every word. This way of writing helps us stay focused on what matters most—making sure our children feel safe, supported, and understood. If you’re reading this and you’re not one of our young people, we hope you’ll still get a sense of the love, respect, and commitment that guides our homes every day.
Providing positive outcomes for children and young people.
Welcome to PIC Children’s Services. We provide high-quality, Ofsted-registered children’s homes for young people with emotional and/or behavioural difficulties (EBD). Our homes are designed to offer a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where you can feel secure and valued.
What We Offer
Our homes are solo-occupancy children’s homes that provide accommodation for one child up to the age of 18. We understand that you may have experienced trauma and have complex needs, which can sometimes make it difficult to feel safe and stable. That’s why we’re here — to provide a long-term home where you can build a sense of belonging and develop the skills you need for the future.
Our Ethos
At PIC Children’s Services, we believe in creating a family-like environment where you feel supported, respected, and heard. Our ethos is built around the following objectives:
Your Long-Term Home, Stability & Consistency: You may have had many moves already. But our goal is to provide a stable and supportive environment where you feel a sense of belonging. We want you to know that your support team will not give up on you and that this is your long-term home until you turn 18. Stability helps you feel invested in building a life for yourself and developing relationships with the people here.
Reintegration with Family and Friends and your Local Community: As you become more stable, we focus on helping you reconnect with your family and friends, where appropriate. We work together to enable consistent contact, rebuild and strengthen relationships, and prepare both you and your social network for a successful reunification. Maintaining relationships with family members can contribute to your stability and emotional support.
Progression to Independence & Post-18 Planning: We understand that you may need to stay with us until you are 18 to prepare for independence. We start early and work at a pace suited to your needs to help you develop the necessary skills for living independently. We work with other agencies to make post-18 plans, ensuring you have a personal adviser and access to all your rights and entitlements to smooth the transition.
Accessing the Right Education: We know that your education may have been disrupted, and mainstream schooling may not always be the right choice for you. We work with multi-agency professionals to find the right education service that suits your needs, interests, abilities, and aspirations. We advocate for you until a suitable provision is found and work to re-engage you in education.
Working Together to Reduce Risk & Promote Your Right to Feel Safe: We work in partnership with you and relevant professionals to get you access to the specialist services you need. We collaborate with the complex safeguarding team, police, and youth justice services to establish effective responses to reduce risks and promote your safety. We aim to reduce behaviours that require police involvement and over-criminalisation, and we work together to address underlying causes to prevent future episodes.
Involving You in Decisions: We ensure that you are listened to and consulted on any issues affecting you. Keeping you informed about your options, how your preferences are being implemented, and any changes in your care means you are more likely to feel positive about our home and engage more readily with our service.
